About Highlands:
Highlands Swim and Tennis Club is a private club offering swimming, tennis and recreational programs in a vibrant community setting. Each summer, Highlands hosts a popular youth day camp that combines sports, games, crafts and team spirit in a safe and fun environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and organized Camp Director to lead the planning and daily operations of our Summer Camp program. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, enjoy working with children and ensure that every camper has a memorable and enriching experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the summer camp program, including scheduling, staffing, safety and daily activities.
- Train and supervise camp counselors and support staff.
- Develop engaging programs that balance sports, arts and recreational play.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and club policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and the Club’s management team.
- Manage the camp budget and supplies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and enthusiastic camp culture.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in camp leadership, youth programming or recreation management.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work full-time (from 8am-4pm) during the summer season (June–August “10 weeks”).
Compensation:
$40 per hour
