
Tennis Camp – Wednesday, May 27, 2026!
Coach Dylan Farmer is offering a tennis camp on Wednesday, 5/27/2026 since APS & FCPS will be closed. Read below for details and registration information.
Date: May 27, 2026
Cost: $90 for Highlands Members; $120 for Nonmembers
Capacity: Each session is set to 12 kids, so register soon!
Ages: 6-12
Hours: 9am-12pm
Tentative Schedule:
- 9-9:15 – Campers arrive and do group warmup
- 9:15-9:30 – Campers will be divided into mini teams that they can earn points for throughout the week through competitions and good behavior. We will usually start with a team challenge
- 9:30-10:15 – Campers will be split based on age/level to work on basic tennis techniques and skills. Each day Coach Dylan will pick a new tennis shot and all groups will try to improve their techniques
- 10:15-10:30 – Campers can have a snack break
- 10:30-11 – Campers will play a Non-tennis games such as Capture the flag or some other team building activity. This is always a good break before we go back to finish with tennis competitions
- 11-11:45 – Campers will be split up into mini games/competitions depending on their levels to try and earn points for the team they were placed on in the beginning of the week. At the end of the week we will have only 1 winner
- 11:45-12 – Campers and coaches will clean their courts and prepare for dismissal.
Camp Goals: Our recreational tennis camp is designed to help players of all levels learn, improve, and most importantly—enjoy the game in a positive, team-oriented environment. We will strive to:

- Develop proper technique on key strokes (forehands, backhands, volleys, serves)
